FAQs – Frequently asked questions

Where are you located?

Happy Dentistry is located at Level 3/ 181 Swanston Street, Melbourne, VIC.

Our dental practice now occupies what used to be Dr M.K. Choy Dental Clinic.

Do I need to see the dentist even if I feel fine?

Although you may not experience a toothache or any other obvious dental symptoms, it doesn’t necessarily mean your mouth is healthy. Numerous silent dental issues can develop over time, and the bacteria in your mouth can also enter your bloodstream and cause inflammatory problems.

By getting a regular dental check up, you can identify potential problems early on and prevent them from becoming more complex (and expensive) down the road.

Do you offer dental emergency services?

Yes, we handle emergency dental procedures. Toothache or teeth sensitivity often indicates a dental emergency. Some of the common dental emergencies that we treat at our dental clinic in Melbourne include the following:

  • Broken or chipped tooth
  • Knocked-out tooth
  • Dental infections
  • Abscessed teeth
  • Broken crowns and fillings
How often should I visit your Melbourne dental clinic?

At Happy Dentistry, we recommend a dental check up and cleaning at least once every six months. Getting your teeth examined regularly, supported by a good at home routine, can help maintain, if not improve, your dental health. That said, dental visit intervals can vary depending on the patient’s circumstances.

Ask our dentists about the appropriate time for your next visit.

How do I schedule my dental visit?

To book an appointment for a dental check up or other treatments at our dental practice in Melbourne, contact us at 03 9663 3401 or via WeChat.

Also, you can book online at Happy Dentistry. Our business hours are from <time> to <time>, Mondays to Saturdays.

Do you accept new patients?

Yes, we do! All new patients are welcome at Happy Dentistry. Our practice has been built on referrals from our loyal patients and colleagues. Please don’t hesitate to recommend us to your family and friends.

We are proud to communicate effectively in both English and Mandarin. We offer our dental services to international students, families, and anyone looking to improve their dental and oral health across all age brackets.

What can you do if my child and I are afraid of dental procedures?

Visiting the dentist can send some people into panic mode. It’s not just kids. Many adult patients can experience dental fear. It’s the main reason that deters many people from seeing the dentist and receiving the treatment they need to improve their oral health.

Dr Jenny Liu is experienced in providing gentle care for all patients. In most cases, she can complete dental procedures without the use of sedation.

That said, we offer sedation or sleep dentistry if necessary to make you <feel relaxed and comfortable> during your visit.

Do you have treatments that can enhance my smile?

Happy Dentistry will help you attain that beautiful smile. We know that the perfect smile can boost your confidence and open new opportunities for you, career wise or in your relationships.

We offer many cosmetic dentistry services to enhance your smile, including the following:

  • Teeth Whitening
  • Porcelain Veneers
  • Injectables
  • Clear Aligners

Happy Dentistry is an <Aligner-certified dentist>. We design clear aligners that will guide your teeth into the correct position to improve your bite and your smile.

Do you have promotional rates or special offers?

Yes, we do! At Happy Dentistry, our primary goal is to ensure each patient receives the highest quality dental care at a cost effective price range. We offer the following special rates for new and current patients:

  • Student discount – 15% OFF
  • Pensioner and healthcare cardholders discount – 15% OFF
  • Gap free check up and clean
  • Free orthodontic and implant consultation
  • Free children’s Dental (Child Dental Benefits Schedule)
  • Gap free take home whitening kits
How often should I clean my teeth?

We recommend that you clean your teeth twice every day and consistently. Doing so controls the buildup of tartar that may cause dental issues later on. We suggest brushing after meals, particularly after breakfast and dinner.

How do I pay for my dental treatment?

Accounts are to be settled in full at the time of consultation or treatment. We accept cash and major credit cards.

Happy Dentistry also processes health fund claims from Medibank, Bupa and HCF. Please bring your private health fund card on the day of your appointment or treatment. Otherwise, we will provide you with a receipt following payment so you can subsequently claim your rebate.
