Why this was recommended

NeutraFluor 5000 is a high-fluoride toothpaste designed to strengthen enamel and significantly reduce your risk of decay and sensitivity. Most standard toothpastes contain around 1,450–1,650 ppm fluoride.

NeutraFluor 5000 contains 5,000 ppm fluoride — approximately three times the fluoride concentration of regular toothpaste.

This high concentration makes it especially effective for:

• Decay-prone teeth

• Dry mouth or reduced saliva

• Acid erosion

• Exposed roots

• Orthodontic treatment (braces/aligners)

• Ongoing tooth sensitivity

• Patients with a history of multiple fillings

How high-fluoride toothpaste works?

Your enamel is made of hydroxyapatite crystals. Acid exposure dissolves these crystals, causing demineralisation.

Fluoride protects your teeth by:

1. Converting hydroxyapatite into fluorapatite, which is more acid-resistant.

2. Speeding up remineralisation by helping calcium and phosphate redeposit into enamel.

3. Reducing sensitivity by sealing microscopic dentine tubules.

How to use it?

1. Apply a pea-sized amount.

2. Brush gently for two minutes, ideally once daily at night.

3. Use the Bass Technique:

   • 45° angle into gumline

   • Small vibrating motions

   • Focus on gum–tooth junction

   • Avoid harsh scrubbing

4. Spit out — do not rinse.

   • If eating or drinking soon, rinse lightly after 30 minutes.

   • If going to bed, spit only — no rinsing.

NeutraFluor 5000 vs NeutraFluor 5000 Sensitive

• Sensitive version is more liquid/runnier.

• Larger tube = better value.

• Contains potassium nitrate for nerve sensitivity.
