Cosmetic injectable treatments
Cosmetic injectables are non-surgical treatments that relax facial muscles or restore volume beneath the skin. At Happy Dentistry, our registered nurse uses a detailed understanding of facial anatomy to plan treatment carefully and explain what each option can and cannot do. We talk through the process, the likely recovery and the alternatives before anything is booked.
Cost and health funds
The cost depends on the treatment that suits you and the areas treated. You receive a quote at your consultation, before anything is booked.
Whether your extras cover pays anything towards it depends on your fund and your level of cover.
We offer HICAPS on-the-spot claiming, so if you have private health extras cover you can claim at the practice on the day.

FAQs
What are cosmetic injectable treatments?
Cosmetic injectables include anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers. Anti-wrinkle injections relax targeted facial muscles to soften lines, while fillers add volume or smooth areas such as the cheeks or lips.
What types of cosmetic injectables do you offer?
At Happy Dentistry, we offer anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, bio-remodelling and mono threads. You can read more on this cosmetic injectable treatments page, or ask our team during your assessment.
How do anti-wrinkle injections work?
Anti-wrinkle injections relax specific facial muscles, which softens lines caused by expression, such as forehead lines, frown lines and lines around the eyes.
How do dermal fillers work?
Dermal fillers add volume beneath the skin, smoothing lines and adding volume to features such as the lips, cheeks and jawline.
Are cosmetic injectables safe, and what are the risks?
When carried out by a properly trained practitioner in a clean clinical setting, injectables are generally safe. Common side effects include temporary redness, swelling or bruising. More serious risks are uncommon but can include infection or vascular problems. Our team has training in facial anatomy and will go through the risks with you before any treatment.
Do cosmetic injectables hurt?
You may feel a small pinch during the injection. We use fine needles and can apply a numbing cream to keep you comfortable during treatment.
How long do the results last?
Anti-wrinkle injections typically last around 3 to 4 months. Dermal fillers can last 6 to 18 months, depending on the area treated and the product used.
Is there any downtime?
There is generally minimal downtime. You may notice slight redness or swelling at the injection sites, which usually settles within a few hours to a few days.
How much do cosmetic injectables cost?
Costs vary with the type of injectable and the areas treated. We provide a clear quote during your consultation so you know the cost before you decide.
